While telework is a growing trend in the public sector, it is an established practice in several U.S. government agencies, including the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Initially implemented as a strategy to retain quality employees in an increasingly competitive landscape, telework is now an important part of the agency’s strategy to provide employee flexibility and reduce operating costs.
