Microsoft-CrowdStrike outage affects federal agencies; White House invests $100 Million in emerging tech workforce

If the diagnosis is correct, this will be the latest example of a major federal IT system outage caused by a corrupted database file.

A White House spokesperson said that currently there is no evidence that an outage of the Notice to Air Missions System was caused by a cyberattack.

A defect found in a recently deployed operating system patch caused the disruption to applications like email, a spokesperson said.

The outage was resolved within a few hours.
