Following in the footsteps of his predecessor, U.S. Chief Technology Office Todd Park took to the question-and-answer social network platform Quora to provide a 1,600-word response on how the Obama Administration is fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in America.
In a question posted by the Obama Administration‘s Quora account, “What efforts has President Obama made while in office to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation?,” Park provides examples of White House efforts that include the JOBS Act, “data liberation,” Startup America Partnership, research and development, broadband and patent reform and the newly-established Presidential Innovation Fellows program, amongst others.
“As Chief Technology Officer of the United States (a position created for the first time by President Obama), I see these efforts first-hand throughout the Administration—and as an entrepreneur who cofounded a company at age 24 and took it public ten years later, I have a special appreciation for how startups and innovation create jobs and prosperity across the country,” writes Park.
Former U.S. CTO Aneesh Chopra first used Quora in December 2011, where he subsequently posed 10 questions to the community on issues ranging from technology to entrepreneurship.
