Former GSA CIO Casey Coleman to join Unisys
Casey Coleman, who led the General Services Administration’s pioneering move to the cloud, and currently is an executive at AT&T Government Solutions, plans to join Unisys Corp. as group vice president for civilian agencies, FedScoop has learned.
Coleman, who starts who her new position on April 22, will be responsible for delivering cloud computing, mobility and cybersecurity products and services to Unisys’ federal government civilian agency clients.
During her tenure as GSA’s chief information officer, from 2007 to 2014, Coleman undertook a number of modernization and infrastructure consolidation initiatives, including the agency’s move to a cloud-based email, collaboration and CRM platform in 2010-2011.
She also championed an agency-wide mobility program that enabled access to information from anywhere and from any device and integrated all GSA infrastructure operations into a single consolidated program. She left GSA in 2014 to join AT&T Government Solutions as client executive vice president.
“I know the Unisys team and have always admired and respected their work,” she told FedScoop. Unisys played a leading role in migrating GSA’s email and collaboration system to the cloud.
Her decision to move to Unisys, she said, was prompted by the opportunity to work with a broader portfolio of agencies, which will include all federal civilian agencies except the Department of Homeland Security, and by the company’s “depth of capability in areas that agencies really need today” including cloud, mobility, and cybersecurity.
Unisys Federal president Venkatapathi “PV” Puvvada, in a prepared statement, said Coleman’s “expertise in areas like cloud, mobility, security and IT consolidation fits perfectly into the strengths of the portfolio of solutions Unisys provides to its federal clients.”
