The Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Economic Analysis is looking for a supervisory information technology specialist to serve as deputy chief information officer. The job pays between $123,758 and $155,500 per year and is open for applications until December 18.
Reporting to the CIO, the Deputy CIO serves as one of the principal advisors in the organization on the application of information technology to improve business processes. The Deputy CIO is a key member of a team of senior IT personnel that directs the development, implementation, maintenance, enhancement, and operation of the Bureau’s information systems; develop strategic operational IT plans and supporting budgets; and oversee the operation of the Bureau’s computer facilities, equipment, and telecommunications networks.
It is critical the potential candidates be expert in overseeing the development and delivery of complex, business-critical information technology systems. Much of the Bureau’s upcoming IT initiatives center around further utilization of available shared services from across the Federal government, supporting improvements in economic accounts, streamlining statistical production processes including bring twenty-first century analytic tools to Bureau managers, and providing all stakeholders enhanced and timely access to BEA’s data products.
