Rajive Mathur has been CIO of SSA since 2017 and came in with a vision to reduce the agency’s reliance on legacy systems. He co-chairs the federal CIO Council’s Services, Strategy and Infrastructure Committee, which deals primarily with the Federal IT Acquisition Reform Act and Technology Business Modernization standards. As the coronavirus outbreak reached pandemic levels, Mathur emphasized a timely response to urgent customer service needs and implemented telework accountability plans to gauge the effect on worker productivity.
