The incumbent is responsible for providing vision, leadership and advice in the development of information technology strategies, ensuring cost effective policies and programs that develop and implement IT initiatives in areas supporting Institution priorities; and for ensuring that Institution IT security activities are conducted in accordance with strategic, program and capital planning process and aligned with Institution priorities. In the execution of these responsibilities, the CIO will interact with members of the Board of Regents, members of Congress and their staff, and officials of the Office of Management and Budget and other executive branch agencies.
