The George C. Marshall Space Flight Center is looking for a Director for its Office of Procurement. The job pays between 119,554 and $179,700 per year and is based in Huntsville, Ala.

The Director, Office of Procurement, George C. Marshall Space Flight Center, has responsibility for the direction and administration of the Center’s procurement management program encompassing a variety of complex contracts of large dollar value and long-term duration, and contracting operations in support of Center in-house requirements. Responsibilities include a range of multi-program and institutional activities, such as contract negotiation, contract administration, construction of facilities, contract close-out and termination, small purchases, and activities that include administration of both small and minority business programs, contract reviews, cost analysis, source indexes, industrial property controls, defense material ratings, and grants.
The incumbent plans and directs the award and execution of all Center procurement in a manner judged to produce the best results in terms of quality, efficiency, economy, and timeliness; maintains extensive contact with NASA Headquarters management officials directly or in conjunction with the Center Director and staff in the areas of procurement policy, objectives, funding, assessments, and resolution of recurring problems; serves as Center spokesperson on procurement matters regarding Center-industry relations, relations with other NASA Centers/labor relations, and community relations; and provides advice and assistance to the Center Director and heads of major Center organizations.
