The Department of Labor is seeking a Director for its Division of Enterprise Services in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management. The job pays between $119,554 and $179,700 and is open for applications until May 12.
Leads, organizes, plans, and manages the ongoing activities of the Division of Enterprise Services in the Office of the Chief Information Office (OCIO).
Acts as a strategic thinker, identifying future best practices and frameworks to be adopted by the Division of Enterprise Services. Serves as key member of the senior planning and management staff of the OCIO, making substantial contributions to the annual and long range planning and program development, operating policy, advanced technologies research and application, organizational enhancements, and internal and external coordination. Collaborates with the other OCIO Directors and advises the CIO and Deputy CIO on the functions and projects assigned to the system development operation.
Directs the design, installation and technical support of the Department’s IT infrastructure which connects all major Agencies and the Regional Offices within DOL. Evaluates the operations of the infrastructure, other Agency networks, and the utilization of networks and microcomputers to progress towards office automation in the Department. Provides recommendations to increase functionality, utilization, effectiveness, and efficiency of the networks and microcomputers.
Acts as a Department-level advocate of system development and operations best practices in IT, promoting such practices among the customer Agencies.
Collaborates with the other Divisions of OCIO, Agencies, and external government entities to implement mandatory Departmental and government-wide initiatives in systems development and operations.
Participates on business process redesign teams to develop requirements for administrative systems that take maximum advantage of the common infrastructure and graphical user interface.
Identifies and implements technologically advanced software development tools and methodologies. Develops, maintains, and ensures adherence to standards and procedures for application system development and modifications. Manages a staff who provide technical consultations, requirements analysis, and design and development of specifications for hardware and software needs, acquisition support, testing, installation, and maintenance support for administrative workflow systems.
Oversees and directs operations for the DOL IT infrastructure which includes a complete range of technical support and analysis for shared and administrative IT systems. Ensures the effective and efficient operation and support of these systems.
