It’s not information technology related, but just kind of cool. A computer science professor at the U.S. Naval Academy was one of the creators of Yoda in two of the three most recent Star Wars movies. Cmdr. Kevin Blenkhorn, an Annapolis grad himself, spent 10 years working at Industrial Light & Magic after his time in the service. Now, he’s sharing what he learned with a new generation of sailors.
“It’s great to work with people who are on the cutting edge of technology,” he said. “The people who were hired to work on that movie pushed computer science to the max, further than any other company. It was the peak of my computer graphics career.” The Force is strong with that one.
