Industry hoped Friday would finally bring an announcement on the Navy’s massive $4.5 billion Next Generation Enterprise Network contract, but now it’s being delayed… again.
The Navy announced Wednesday the contract will be awarded June 30, however, the Navy notes it could still come sooner. The program originally hoped to have a contract awarded December 2012, but has been delayed numerous times.
NGEN will replace the Navy Marine Corps Intranet contract extension the Navy signed with HP Enterprise Services in 2010 and that runs out of options in 2014.
